Hello there! I’m Carol (the one on the far right) and I live in a small town in Virginia called Chester.
It’s about 20 miles outside of Richmond. I was born and raised here and have lived in the same town all of my life. I’m 44 years young and have two fabulous daughters (pictured above) ages 22 and 28 and five grandchildren!
Go ahead and gasp, most people do! I’m a graduate student in the IMC program at WVU and I am halfway through the program. I’ve also become one the latest and greatest WVU Mountaineer football fans!! I love watching the games and fly my WVU flag proudly throughout the season.
Currently, my occupation requires that I get people out of jail. That’s right, I’m a bondswoman. As strange as it sounds, I love this job and wouldn’t give it up for anything. So, I guess you are asking yourself how I got into this line of work. Well, a friend of mine had some family that were previously in the bonding business and she was looking for someone to share the love!! So, we both started the business about two years ago, and it has been an adventure ever since.
I’ve met some great people and I consider it, not just a job or business, but another leaning experience in life. There’s a whole other world out there that has affected the best of them (doctors, chemists, teachers, upper management, etc.) and not to mention, the family members. From traffic offenses to probation violations, domestic assault to drugs and alcohol abuse, and the list of crimes go on and on.
There is no doubt about it, people get into trouble! One of the most positive aspects of this job is that I think I have pretty good job security!! For the most part, crime continues whether by accident or by chance, and my tenure as a bail bondswoman has good potential for the future. Unlike my previous job, where I worked for the healthcare industry in Sales and service for 18 years, and corporate downsizing left me jobless and on unemployment.
In my free time, I like swimming, boating and relaxing with a good celebrity gossip magazine like US or People. My favorite place to visit is Florida (a picture of its beautiful sunset lies in my header) and my favorite food to eat is pasta (I must have inherited that from my late grandmother who considered herself the “noodle queen”). As for the future, my passion is to teach, and I hope to be able to do that soon with a college. It’s only taken me over a decade to get there, but it’s been a wonderful journey.

Hi Heidi:
I’m glad you enjoyed reading my blog. Maybe we will have another class together before it’s over. I only have 3 or more classes left so the end is nearing! It’s been great.

Hi James:
Believe it or not, I never really liked football. So the mountaineers have really changed my perception about the game. I’m really proud to be a fan and enjoy watching the games. I hope to get to see a game “live” at WVU before the season is over. I visited the stadium at the informational weekend and can’t wait to be a part of the mountaineer maniacs!!
